It’s November 1st and my family portraits are in full swing over here! Given that my new Holiday Mini Session events will be held indoors with festive styled sets, I wanted to give some tips and insight on what to wear and what’s trending for holiday portrait fashion this 2017. These tips can be used for both indoor and outdoor portrait settings. Here we go!

Style Tip #1: Holiday Prep

A great option for everyone this year is to keep it clean cut with just a little “pop” of classic holiday colors. Pairing a blazer with a plaid shirt or pair of cropped jeans gives the perfect balance of holiday style!

Style Tip #2: Velvet + Tulle

Have fun this season playing with beautifully colored velvet pants or a fun tulle skirt. Whether for you or your little one, these two styles are SO in for 2017!

Style Tip #3: Dress it Up!

It’s a nice contrast to dress up the whole family even if you’re the only one wearing sequence! My backdrops this year are conducive to both sophisticated glam and casual wear.

Style Tip #4: Black + White

I will say this a million times over, you can NEVER go wrong with the classic combo of black and white. These two colors will always go with holiday decor especially with my red gingham throw! 😉

Style Tip #5: Matching PJ’s

Capture the epitome of the holidays with dressing everyone up in matching PJ’s! You can give a little diversity to each family member by accessorizing with a plaid scarf, furry hat and slippers. Add in a cup of hot cocoa and you’ve got the perfect holiday card!

Style Tip #6: Neutrals

Last but certainly not least, going with a neutral palette can really make for beautiful, holiday chic photos. Your card can still scream “Merry Everything” even without red and green in the mix!
