Everything in East Hampton is effortlessly authentic and each storefront has it’s own character. My dear friend Amor, is a bakery fanatic. So when we came to The Hamptons for a girls trip, you best believe Amor was going to hit up her fair share of bakeries. She read about Carissa’s Bakery featured in one of the local magazines, we couldn’t pass up stopping by to see it for ourselves. How quaint and simple it was! There was something so lovely about the simplicity of their storefront on 68 Newton Lane, right down to the swing screen door with a sign saying “ovens on welcome”. Natural light beamed through large paned glass windows highlighting the beautiful glass cake stands each housing a custom wedding cake. A simple glass encasement showcased all of their morning’s baked goods and also posed as the front counter. Amor chose the Charred Broccoli Sandwich which consisted of preserved lemon, citrus aioli, and aged cheddar on a multigrain baguette and I stuck with a simple fresh croissant. We were there just in time as the baker brought out a fresh batch of Sweet Potato Brioche which I couldn’t help but photograph! Between the friendly service and amazingly delicious bites, Carissa’s Bakery should be a definite stop on your list of places to go in East Hampton. It won’t disappoint!
